The Belarusian society has questions in this regard, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What sources was such a large-scale event financed from (booking the Minsk Arena, transportation costs to bring the delegates, fees for the Russian performers, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Why was the Forum secret and closed to anyone interested to attend;<\/li>\n<li>Who were the women present at the Forum and whose interests do they represent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Message communicated by the Women\u2019s Forum<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Representatives of the Belarusian Union of Women present and speaking at the Forum under the slogans and posters \u201cFor Belarus\u201d, \u201cFor Lukashenko\u201d speak on behalf of the patriarchal authorities.<\/li>\n<li>Deputy Minister Bogdan (being also candidate Lukashenko\u2019s trustee during the 2020 election) stated that \u201cin the last quarter of a century, women of Belarus have turned from housekeepers to female leaders\u201d. But then Lukashenko concluded: \u201cMen will sort it out\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Abusive and humiliating remarks were part of the rhetoric of the women participating in the Forum.<br \/>\nPeople protesting across Belarus were called from the stage \u201cleaders of a destructive sect\u201d, \u201ca mad crowd\u201d, Tikhanouskaya and Kalesnikava were referred to as \u201ca lady whose horizons are limited by her kitchen\u201d and \u201ca flutist trying to play some melody on a foreign flute\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fem Group\u2019s response message:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>We unite with all the women protesting in any way against the election rigging and the unprecedented violence the authorities subjected the peaceful citizens to.<\/li>\n<li>We are certain that abusive speech based on the difference of beliefs is unacceptable between women.<\/li>\n<li>We support women who represent our interests as a social group when going out under slogans \u201cA friend for a friend\u201d and \u201cOne together and all for one\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>We share the women\u2019s desire and need to speak out, among other things, their political beliefs considering themselves a subject of the changes occuring in Belarus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>We can\u2019t be stopped, we can\u2019t be broken!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 17 was marked with a Women\u2019s Forum which took place in Minsk unannounced and with all its details secret.
