Representatives of the Coordination Council continue\u0432 to support independent trade unions and local governments, create new initiatives and act in the international arena. Here is an overview of the main events of the past week.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>150 applications to join independent trade unions processed\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profbel.online\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trade Union Online team<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> continues to provide support to workers and students who want to join independent trade unions and defend their rights at university and in the workplace.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Working Group for the Belarusian language and culture established<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group supports Belarusian-speaking citizens and cultural representatives and opposes attempts to discredit Belarusian symbols. Follow the news of the team on its\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/bmova_rada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">telegram channel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Statistics on startup ecosystem in Belarus collected<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In early October, the team of Tatsiana Marinich, a member of the Coordination Council\u2019s Working Group on Business, conducted a survey on the state of the startup ecosystem in Belarus. The survey was completed by 208 founders and co-founders of start-up companies. Last week, the experts prepared a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bel.biz\/ecosystem\/vliyanie-krizisa-na-startap-biznesy-v-belarusi-bolshoj-opros-imaguru-2\/?fbclid=IwAR069BQDOlmpxWqaDgI304N7kyB6rPYrLkQdoE7lB2Qk9KTvSdOt24-wvVU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">detailed analysis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of this survey.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>A series of educational videos on the economy of Belarus launched<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the first video <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why Belarus Needs Reforms<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Ales Aliakhnovich, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya\u2019s economic adviser, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yCgOcfUXD-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has explained<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> why the economy of Belarus has been shrinking since 2010 and how reforms can help change that. In the upcoming videos, Ales will answer frequently asked questions about the economy and the current situation in the country. You can submit your questions <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/economy@rada.vision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by email here<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><b>The first online hackathon of the Coordination Council and the Peramen hub launched<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSclysx7dbRPsxUensrd3S6HTpHohWjtLbQhmN0T_pcVrfxisQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Join our hackathon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and together with other advocates of change and members of the Coordination Council create projects that are going to help achieve the main demands of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rada.vision\/resolucyia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resolution of the Coordination Council<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The hackathon will be held on November 2\u20137.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Parliamentary Solidarity with Belarus initiative launched<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Coordination Council has invited parliamentarians from all countries to express their support and solidarity with the Belarusian people. You can read updates from the initiative <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/parliamentarysolidarity\/?_rdc=1&amp;_rdr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on the official Facebook page<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>A study of the needs of women in crisis conducted<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/femgroupbealrus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Fem Group of the Coordination Council<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has processed the results of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdmj4XDSoJKk0BPuqJTX7RClX6eSNCpjRAZRJ1SLWD2VCppHQ\/viewform?fbclid=IwAR2Op-ucNtn-FljsX9zc9v6Y73SEqrUd9aHl_a2g4sk620e2h33Bqu00B5w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which will help to understand women\u2019s concerns and determine where the initiative needs to work.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Council members made an appeal to the EHEA Ministerial Conference<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Education Working Group urged their foreign colleagues to demand that the Belarusian authorities respect students\u2019 rights.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the moment, the Coordination Council has 10 Working Groups.
