Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and Victor Babariko’s headquarters nominated Maxim Znak, a member of the Presidium of the CC, for the Trarieux International Prize, one of the most prestigious in the field of human rights.
Tens of thousands of Belarusians learned of their rights thanks to Maxim. He went out to legal streams and explained in an accessible manner what legal methods we have to protect our rights.
– This is not only an exceptional step in defending the rights and freedoms of citizens but also the personal courage of Maxim – he knew that for this he could be arrested at any moment – notes Svetlana Tikhanovskaya in a letter to the organizing committee of the Trarieux Prize.
Since September 9, Maxim Znak has been in the remand center on Volodarskaya street. He has been recognized as a political prisoner and prisoner of conscience.
