Maxim Znak and Lyudmila Kazak are finalists of the Lawyers for Lawyers Award.
The award ceremony will take place on November 18 in Amsterdam. In addition to Belarusian lawyers, lawyers from Myanmar and Algeria entered the final.
“Maxim Znak and Lyudmila Kazak pay a high price for their work,” the organizers of the award note. – On September 9, 2020 Maxim Znak was taken into custody and is still in custody. On February 19, 2021, Lyudmila Kazak was deprived of her lawyer status.
The “Lawyers for Lawyers Award” recognizes lawyers who have made a significant contribution to protecting the rule of law and human rights in a challenging environment.
