I urge the members of the Coordination Council to think about their constituents.

“Every delegate who makes a decision, whether it’s leaving or some other decision, must first of all think about their voters, and delegates are responsible to their voters,” said Artsyom Brukhan, speaker of the Coordination Council, member of the “Team Latushka and the Movement For Freedom” faction, on the air of the Belsat TV channel.

Artsyom Brukhan noted that despite various processes, the Coordination Council continues its work:

“The Coordination Council was included in the latest resolution of the European Parliament, and the importance of the Coordination Council as a key institution of democratic forces is separately stated there. The delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe is starting its work, our delegation to PACE is also carrying out effective work, and for the first time, the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic was invited to the EuroNest parliamentary assembly – all this indicates the recognition of the Coordination Council by international partners and its effective activities.”

The Speaker of the Coordination Council emphasized the importance of respecting one’s constituents and being responsible first and foremost to them.

“I urge the members of the Coordination Council to think about their voters, not about their personal ambitions, not about their ego, but first of all about their voters, who voted for you and delegated to you the right to work in the Coordination Council, defending the interests of those people who voted for you and implementing the program with which you went to the elections. This is how a normal political process and a normal parliamentary democracy work. Let’s respect our voters, because such departures and demarches, in my opinion, are disrespectful to the people who voted for us in a risky situation. We are primarily responsible to them.”
