Today the court ordered the Ministry of Justice to explain the decision to revoke the license of Maria Kolesnikova’s lawer, Alexander Pylchenko.
The pressure on the lawyers of Maria Kolesnikova is already becoming a pattern. First, the arrest of Maksim Znak, who is still in custody for doing his job, then the arrest of Ilya Salei, who hasn’t been yet cleared of charges, and transferred to house arrest. That was followed by illegal detention and the imposition of a fine on the lawyer Lyudmila Kazak. Then Aleksadr Pylchenko was deprived of his license.
The decision of the Moskovsky District Court of Minsk to demand an explanation from the Ministry of Justice may be the first step towards returning to the legal field.
The Coordination Council demands to ensure the safety of advocacy and calls on Belarusian courts to comply with the laws of the Republic of Belarus.
